MSc in Engineering (Product Development and Innovation, PDI) is an interdisciplinary study programme with special emphasis on the interaction of technology and social sciences with the surrounding world.
With a degree in PDI you become an idea and product developer with comprehensive engineering knowledge and business acumen. The master programme provides you with a general knowledge of the product and process development and incorporates technical and natural science courses in economics, marketing, design and global supply chain networks.
Interdisciplinary business development
With a master degree in PDI you will learn about business development – across the different company departments. You will be able to develop products, conduct market studies and to assess commercial outlets. We prioritise the creative approach and business know-how combined with classical engineering skills.
Specialise in...
You can choose between two specialisations:
Global Supply Chain Development and
Product Value Creation. Thus, you will specialise in a specific technical field and, at the same time, you will get a comprehensive view of the entire process. Get an overview of the
structure of the programme.
Regardless of your specialisation you will learn about subjects such as innovation strategies, innovative organisations, knowledge development and sharing in innovative environments, and initiation and implementation of innovative processes.
Project work and exciting research based study environment
You become part of a
project based and problem based study environment where you work in project groups. You and your fellow students are responsible for planning and carrying out the project – and for meeting the deadlines. Usually we receive the projects from companies and we make a point of allowing you to solve ‘real world’ problems. Learn more from the students themselves .
Many different career options
With a master degree in PDI you will have a range of
job opportunities – in Denmark and abroad. Among other things, you could plan and carry out innovation processes; or you could be employed as manager of a development department, global market research analyst, or product developer at a Danish or international company.
It is also possible to continue on a
three-year research programme which will lead to a PhD degree. Another option is to study an industrial research programme which is carried out in close cooperation with a company where you are employed.
Graduates who have completed this master programme are entitled to use the title of Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering (Product Development and Innovation).
