Why do you study ERM in Esbjerg?
I want to learn how to deal with contemporary environmental issues. Our planet has been subjected to bad treatment and lack of regard for its resources for a very long time and there is an acute need for different management, one that takes into consideration not only profit but also resource preservation so that growth can be preserved in the long term. I study ERM because I want to be conscious of the numerous aspects of each problem, production or development project.
How do you experience the programme?
In Esbjerg I found a source of inspiration and motivation to learn and develop. The very friendly and informal environment helped me to learn and ask all the questions I needed.
What are your plans after graduation?
I hope to be able to use the skills that I have learned in the ERM programme for a better understanding of environmental problems and ultimately – better solutions to these.
I am also interested in doing further research into sustainability issues and later on work with analysis and consultancy in the field of energy policies, sustainability and climate changes.

Why do you study ERM in Esbjerg?
I wanted to do some changes in my life and I decided to move abroad to do a Master in a environmentally related topic. Learning ERM is a fascinating way of reaching this topic. It combines economics and science in a very useful way. Denmark is one of the countries in the frontline of utilizing resources in the interests of nature; the expansion in building windmills is a good example. So, related to that Esbjerg is a good choice for students wanting to educate themselves and have a career in ERM.
How do you experience the programme?
I am very satisfied with the structure of the programme. The division of the year into four quarters makes it easier to focus on the subject of each course, since there are only two courses running each time. What I like most is the big emphasis on group work as well as individual and group introduction of projects. That is a very good preparation for future job opportunities, where companies are getting more and more project oriented. SDU in Esbjerg is rather small and personal, so you can establish a personal contact with the teachers which try to meet the need of every student. This small and comfortable environment makes you feel very welcome.
What are your plans after graduation?
My plans are to find a job here in Esbjerg related to the offshore industry in the North Sea which is mostly serviced from Esbjerg. There is lot of opportunities here in the field of ERM which I plan to use after graduation to enhance my skills further than the education offers.
