Job opportunities in the industry and research institutions of the future.
With a degree in Chemistry you have many career opportunities in Denmark as well as abroad. You could end up with any kind of job, and it is not difficult for a chemist to find employment.
Which way will you go?
As a chemist, you can find employment in a number of fields within the industry. In research and development, you have the opportunity as an organic or inorganic chemist to join the production of new molecules with pharmaco-chemical potential.
As an environmental chemist, you can help investigate where pollution originates and as a specialist in material chemistry, you can help develop new materials for fuel cells.
With much experience in spectroscopy or mass spectrometry, you can, like a ”detective”, help discover which compounds are present in a sample, for instance a doping analysis, or how molecules are constructed.
Finally, as a theoretical chemist you can help construct or utilise computer models of chemical reactions or the properties of molecules. You can also work in quality assurance of a company’s products, in sales or in consulting within the industry.
In the public sector, you can find employment as a teacher at for instance high schools or colleges, in administration or advisory positions. You can also work as a researcher at universities or other public institutions both nationally and internationally.
