Future and career

With a degree in Biology from the University of Southern Denmark, you will gain a broad scientific education which will enable you to interpret and understand a number of interdisciplinary subjects. This will make you an interesting prospect to a variety of employers, from public institutions to private businesses - in Denmark as well as abroad.
As a biologist, job opportunities in subjects like environmental consulting, environmental processing, energy guidance or proceedings relating to land contamination are great. You can also become part of the development happening in relation to the environmental considerations which are necessary in order to provide a sustainable development of our future environment. To these development projects, biologists are crucial. Another career path you can choose is to work in administration in environmental-technical departments and consulting companies.
Do you want to work with research and development?
If you want to work in research, it usually necessitates completing a PhD. The PhD student is usually paid through a scholarship from a university, a foundation or through collaboration with a company.
