Modern design of structures
Our exchange programmes in structural engineering focus on modern design of structures using both concrete and steel as the main materials for building structures.
You can attend the programme for one or two semesters where you have the possibility of learning about the following and more:
- Modern design in steel structures
- Theory and analysis of structures
- Steel structures according to Eurocode 3
- Limit analysis and concrete plasticity
- Structural vibrations
- Finite element method
Autumn semester
The autumn programme in structural engineering offers a comprehensive introduction to the design of modern steel structures according to the Eurocodes and structural vibrations. Furthermore the programme offers a comprehensive introduction to concrete structures according to Eurocode 2 and the theories of plasticity, which are important skills in modern structural design. The structural courses (25 ECTS credits) can be supplemented with an elective course in e.g. organisations, project management or quality management.
Spring semester
The spring programme in structural engineering offers advanced steel construction theory and analysis of steel structure. Students gain additional knowledge about the theory and use of finite elements, which is an efficient tool in structural design. The structural courses (20 ECTS credits) can be supplemented with courses within e.g. supply chain management, organisations or ERP systems.

Teaching
Our education model is based on project based learning and during your studies you will gain considerable practical experience. Besides, classes are small often with no more than twenty students, so you have time to discuss issues in-depth with your teacher.
