With a degree in Interaction Design you acquire a number of engineering and personal competencies necessary to meet the expectations of the labour market.
General competencies
The main focus of all engineering programmes at University of Southern Denmark is professional ability and the programmes are all rooted in research and development environments of a high international standard.

Specific competencies:
With a bachelor of engineering degree in Interaction Design you will have the following competencies:
• Extensive knowledge of user-centred design. You involve the user in the design process; from ethnographic user studies, over regular user feedback, and to the testing of the prototype and the final product
• Broad knowledge of user interaction and product development. You have an analytic approach and know how to optimise interactions between technology and user. You will yourself play an active part in the development of a product
• Ability to master collaborative learning. During your studies you work closely with your fellow students and this enables you to work well and constructively with other occupational groups
• Ability to be innovative and to realise your own ideas as well as the ideas of others. You know how to carry out a design
• Your knowledge is based on science, thus you are able to develop user friendly electronic systems as well as mechanical and intelligent products
• Great insight into how people communicate and you will be able to apply this knowledge in the development of new products
• Ability to decipher the market and to develop products consistent with market needs.
A bachelor of engineering degree in Interaction Design qualifies you to continue your studies for a master of science in engineering degree.
