When I was told I had been accepted as an exchange student at SDU I felt really excited. I knew the Danish educational system was very different from the Spanish one, so joining the University of Southern Denmark would mean both an opportunity and a challenge.
Neither the university nor the country was a disappointment: What I like so much about Denmark is how relaxed daily life is. I easily got used to the city I live in and to the university. One of the things that surprised me the most about Denmark is the kindness Danes show to foreigners.
Studying in Denmark is very different from what I was used to in Spain. At the University of Southern Denmark there are many hours of practical training, small class groups and a comfortable and close relationship with the lecturers. And even though I am not a Danish speaker I had no problem following the lectures, as many courses are taught in English.
