I initially wanted to study a programme which only involved economic courses, but after a backpacking trip through China I discovered the many cultural differences that exists in China. The future also looks bright for China, becoming an economic super-power and facing development in a faster rate than anywhere else on the planet. China is the future, and I also want to be a part of this future.
This study course provides a good mix between Chinese language and culture on one side and a lot of economical subjects on the other. This mix will help us at some point, when we have to be integrated into companies dealing with the Chinese market. Our learning regarding China starts out from the bottom. No prior knowledge is required, though an interest in China and Chinese lifestyle will help you to keep motivated a long way. Another big motivational factor is the “break” in the course – after two years, when we all go to China to further improve our Chinese linguistic abilities and get the opportunity to really explore the different layers of the Chinese society. This will hopefully give us some new contacts within the Chinese market that will help our future careers.
