The degree in Intercultural Pedagogy will enable you to work as a professional with language and pedagogy in intercultural environments and contexts.
Language and pedagogy
More and more pedagogical situations in daily working life require that professionals must relate to a variety of languages, cultures, ethnicities and an increased multiplicity in manners and ways of thinking.
For many people these cultural challenges are a novel factor that can sometimes cause conflicts to escalate and lead to misunderstanding and uncertainty – rather than the opposite.
The Intercultural Pedagogy degree will enable you to work as a professional with language and pedagogy in intercultural environments and contexts.
Choose the strand that suits your preferences
The audiology degree has two strands:
Intercultural Pedagogy with Arabic
or
Intercultural Pedagogy with Danish as a second language
Both strands cover the same intercultural pedagogical subjects, so whichever you choose you will study intercultural pedagogy with students from the other strand.
You will be taught in Arabic on the Intercultural Pedagogy with Arabic course, enabling you to communicate and discuss intercultural issues affecting Arabic-speaking people living in Denmark and in Arabic-speaking countries. Graduates will be able to communicate effectively with Arabic-speaking people, provide pedagogic advice, carry out development projects, etc.
The course in Intercultural Pedagogy with Danish as a second language will give you the most up-to-date knowledge of bilingualism, of the acquisition of first and second languages and of linguistics. With this you will be able to prepare and perform teaching programmes for children and adults who speak Danish as a second language, to evaluate courses in language stimulation and teaching, and help to shape language policies in institutions and in commercial companies.
