The Bachelor ín Modern Languages and Intercultural Communication (admission area code 19250) requires an Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate or an equivalent foreign qualifying examination.
Furthermore you have to meet the following entry requirements:
- English: equivalent to A-level in the Danish system (e.g. min. 7 on IELTS Academic)
- History or Social Sciences: equivalent to Danish B-level
AND
For the language combination German/English:
- Danish: equivalent to Danish A-level
- German: equivalent to Danish B-level or Danish A-level
For the language combination Danish/English:
- German: advanced, i.e. German Abitur-level
- Danish: a passed 100-hours (4 weeks) intensive course in Danish, taking place on the university campus in August. If you have Studieprøven or Danish at Abitur-level you are exempt from this course. If you have other existing qualifications in Danish contact the vice head of studies Irene Simonsen Simonsen@sdu.dk as early as possible in the application process to find out whether you can be exempted from the intensive course.
Note:
- Applicants who fulfil the language requirements for both tracks can apply for either one. If you have higher proficiency in German than in Danish, we recommend that you chose the Danish/English track. If you have higher proficiency in Danish than in German, we recommend that you chose the German/English track. In this way you will benefit most from the language proficiency teaching.
The entry requirements cannot be waived.
