A study programme focusing on foreign languages and media studies.
In a time of globalisation companies need employees who are qualified within both foreign languages and media. The Bachelor programme in International Business Communication with one foreign language and media is a study programme that combines foreign language teaching in either English, German, French or Spanish with competence within media studies.
Communication in a wide sense
The foreign language focuses on technical terminology in a wide sense, both written and oral. The joint Danish-language courses enables you to carry out the terminological work in both the foreign language and in Danish. The fields of activity lie within internal and external communication, including preparation of brochures, product instructions and company profiles.
You also acquire a thorough knowledge of the socio-cultural conditions of the foreign language area -the political, the social and the financial - which is a prerequisite for being able to understand the framework that companies work within.
Media use - before, now and the future
The other competence lies within the media area, e.g. mass media. You have independent disciplines on the media part that focus on both the theoretical and practical aspects of the field. Thereby you learn how to plan and design media surveys and other communication assignments (e.g. interviews).
In addition you obtain the necessary historical knowledge of the mass media, which leads you to an understanding of the role of media today.
An important element in the education is knowledge about and the ability to analyse motion pictures and audio within multi- media, which will enable you to participate in the creation of a company media policy.
Prepared for the business world
Apart from the foreign language and the media courses, there is a number of joint courses through which you will obtain the wide knowledge that companies need today. In addition, the joint courses give you the necessary basic knowledge for the remaining part of the programme.
You get an understanding of communication in general, and you will be able to solve different tasks within company-relevant areas, like marketing, organization, international business law as well as IT.
Opportunity for a MA degree
When you graduate as a BA in International Business Communication and Media, you can either choose to apply for jobs or to study for another 2 years for the Master's degree.
If you have any questions about the programme, you are welcome to write an e-mail to the student counsellor.
