Media, language and living literature.
If you want to engage in the topics that you are continuously exposed to via art, everyday life and the media, the BA in Danish is the study programme for you.
The Danish programme covers Danish-language texts and media products of all kinds: Novels, short stories, poems, dramas, rap texts, journalism, political speeches, advertising, television shows and films. Basically all types of texts and modes of expression you can think of.
Language, literature and media.
The key concepts of Danish concern language, literature and media. We particularly emphasise that you learn how to analyse texts and media products which in turn allows you to see them in the light of their cultural and historical contexts as well as from linguistic perspectives. Danish initially revolves around Danish texts, Danish Language and culture but in time we will also look beyond the Danish borders. We are happy to have a certain obligation to focus on modern Norwegian and Swedish culture, literature and language. The course includes a visit to the universities in Lund and Oslo. A BA in Danish spans three years. For the first five semesters, Danish is the central subject. After this, you will choose an elective subject according to your interests. This could be English, History, Religion, Narratology or a subject from a different faculty, such as Business Economics or Mathematics. Your choice of combination may open up for entirely new job options.
Once you have completed your BA you can continue as a post graduate student.
