My name is Ekaterina Dimitrova. I come from Bulgaria and I chose to study at The University of Southern Denmark because it offers the unique combination of economics and information technology in one programme. This bachelor degree has given me insight into these two extremely influential parts of modern-day society and the ways in which they complement each other, specifically in a business environment.I enjoy being a student at SDU for two main reasons. First, I have experienced that communicating every day with people with different cultural backgrounds can be quite challenging – for example, minding cultural differences, religious preferences and values and keeping an open mind are some of the important things an international environment can teach a person. The programme Economics & IT stresses a lot the importance of team-work as in today’s global environment, working in teams is a key skill. The second reason why I like this programme is related to the lecturers. All of them are really helpful people who enjoy teaching and being challenged by their students and their fresh ideas.
All in all, I recommend this programme to people who would like to develop their interpersonal skills, as well as feel challenged intellectually by the unique mixture of economics and IT.

Before I decided to choose this programme, I was interested in it and luckily invited to visit campus Slagelse. After my conversation with Programme Director, Vibeke Toft Müller and some of the students, I was impressed by the appealing studying atmosphere, nice environment, good facilities and convenient location etc.
Now being a student in IT and Economics at campus Slagelse, I'm proud of saying that I'm very happy with my studying here! The student counselors were there for me when I was a new student and gave me a good introduction. "SDU'er", that's an amazing impression! And this programme has a perfect combination with IT knowledge and Economics, the teachers do not only give you theoretical things but also combine and share practical matters about how it works in the real world. I never feel bored when I attend classes. It's also great that you can work with people with technical insights at various levels when making group work. I am able to gain more inspirations and knowledge from others, that’s a wonderful experience!
