• • Baltic University Programme
  • The Baltic University Programme (BUP) is a network of about 225 universities and other institutes of higher learning throughout the Baltic Sea region. The Programme focuses on questions of sustainable development, environmental protection, and democracy in the Baltic Sea region.

• • Griffith University
  • Collaboration between Griffith University and the University of Southern Denmark
    Griffith University, Australia, and the University of Southern Denmark have started a process for the purpose of establishing a closer collaboration on research and education. The goals are to improve the exchange of students and staff, and establish a global collaboration with similar universities.

• • DEAN Network
  • ESMU (European Centre for Strategic Management of universities) was created in 1986 as an international think tank and non profit association to promote the strategic management of European universities. ESMU has established DEAN, which is a European network of Deans of Faculties and academic leaders. DEAN focuses on management issues and complements the work of existing national/European associations of deans which are primarily focusing on disciplines.

  • The University of Southern Denmark has been awarded a Diploma Supplement Label by the European Commission for the period 2010 – 2013.

• • EIUC – European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation
  • The European Inter–University Centre for Human Rights and Democratisation (EIUC) is an interdisciplinary centre formed by 41 universities from all European Union Member States.
    It is founded on a commitment to promotion of high-level inter-disciplinary human rights education, research, training and culture, and a shared global understanding of human rights and democracy.

• • Erasmus Extended University Charter
  • The University of Southern Denmark participates in the Erasmus programme. The University of Southern Denmark has an Erasmus Extended University Charter 2007 – 2013.

• • European Master in Tourism Management (EMTM)
  • The two year full-time integrated European Master programme is an Erasmus Mundus certified cooperation between Syddansk Universitet (Esbjerg), Univerza u Ljubljani (Slovenien) and Universitat de Girona (Spanien). Through top-level, research-based education, the programme aims at qualifying graduates to manage the huge challenges faced in contemporary tourism.

  • The University of Southern Denmark is a member of the European University Association (EUA) which represents and supports more than 850 institutes of higher learning in 46 countries.

• • EUA-CDE - (Council for Doctoral Education)
  • The mission of the EUA Council for Doctoral Education (EUA-CDE), an integral part of EUA, is to contribute to the development, advancement and improvement of doctoral education and research training in Europe.

• • Studying across borders
  • The University of Southern Denmark has since 1991, had a border crossing cooperation with the University of Flensburg, Germany. The University of Southern Denmark and the University of Flensburg cooperate to offer the following programmes: BA/Cand.merc.int., BA/master i European Studies og BA/Cand.ling.merc. i sproglig og kulturel formidling.

• • IAU – International University Association
  • IAU, founded in 1950, is the UNESCO-based worldwide association of higher education institutions. It brings together institutions and organisations from some 150 countries for reflection and action on common concerns and collaborates with various international, regional and national bodies active in higher education.

• • Magna Charta Universitatum
  • The University of Southern Denmark is a member of the Magna Charta which emphasizes the freedom of the universities and strengthens the ties between European universities.

• • The Nordic Centre Fudan
  • The University of Southern Denmark is a member of The Nordic Centre in Shanghai - a collaboration between Fudan University, The Nordic Institute of Asian Studies (NIAS) and 25 Universities from Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Iceland. The centre is a meeting place for Nordic and Chinese scholars and students.

• • The Nordic Association of Universities (NUS) & The Nordic Association of University Administrators (NUAS)
  • The Nordic Association of Universities (NUS) was established in 1995. It is an organisational cooperation among the rectors conferences in Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland and Norway. The aim of the Nordic Association of University Administrators (NUAS) is to enhance contacts and to establish networks between the Nordic universities at all administrative levels. NUAS cooperates with the Nordic Council of Ministers, other organizations and authorities in order to promote the Nordic educational community.

• • Exchange agreements
  • The University of Southern Denmark has 557 exchange agreements (Feb. 2011) – covering primarily student exchange – with universities in 42 countries.

• • SANORD
  • SANORD - The Southern African-Nordic Centre is a partnership of higher education institutions from all the Nordic countries and southern Africa. Its primary aim is to promote multilateral research cooperation on matters of importance to the development of both regions.

• • ScanBalt BioRegion – Life Sciences on Top of Europe
  • A network of clusters, universities, companies and public authorities working within Life sciences to promote the Baltic Sea Region as a globally competitive green valley and health region.

• • The Sino-Danish Centre for Education and Research
  • The Sino-Danish Center for Education and Research (SDC) is situated in Beijing and is a joint project on education and research between the eight Danish universities, the Danish Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the Graduate University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (GUCAS) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

• • Foreign Exchange Programmes for Students
  • The University of Southern Denmark has exchange agreements with a number of foreign universities. In Europe, these agreements are primarily enforced by Erasmus (EU) and Nordplus (the Nordic countries). There are several overseas exchange places as well.

• • Collaboration between University of Hamburg, Aarhus University and University of Southern Denmark
  • UHH, AU and SDU have initiated a process towards establishing close collaboration on research and education. The objective is to increase student and staff mobility and position the universities in the competition for external funding.

• • Knowledge Region, Schleswig-Holstein Southern Denmark
  • The Knowledge Region/Wissensregion is an initiative which intends to strengthen the German/Danish collaboration within knowledge and research. By October 2012 there are 7 partners: University of Southern Denmark, University College Lillebælt, University College Syddanmark, Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, University of Applied Sciences Kiel, University of Flensburg and Flensburg University of Applied Sciences. A project office was established in 2009 at the University of Southern Denmark.
