There are many different cooperations you can be part of with an International Brainstormer
The University of Southern Denmark is seeking business partners for their project; International Brainstormers, with the purpose of creating a strategic alliance between the university and the collaborators for the benefit of both parties.
There will be made a declaration of intent with the interested regional collaborators who will be participating in the project.
The collaborators will through signing of an agreement declare the intention to associate one (or several) student(s) via a project oriented course during the students’ enrollment in the graduate programme at SDU.
The project oriented course will be carried out in the third semester; autumn 2013, 2014, 2015. Furthermore, the declaration of intent include an informal agreement that the collaborators moreover wish to collaborate with the international student(s) concerning their master thesis, plus that they might be open for employment after graduation. As part of the projects a needs-assessment will be compiled in cooperation between the company consultant and the collaborator. The purpose is to identify which competences the companies want in relation to the collaboration with the international student(s); and furthermore, which shape and time perspective the partnership should hold. On the basis of the needs-assessment the international student(s) and the collaborators will be matched, and in this way the companies will be supplied with the linguistic- and cultural competences they wish.
Different forms of collaboration
Student job
Do you have an extra assignment that needs to be resolved? If you hire an international student in a student job, you will be provided with a committed and highly qualified coworker in your company benefitting your international activities. Salary and work hours will be determined individually with the international students.
Project
Are you company in need of a different angle on old issues and are your drawer filled with half-ended projects wating for closure? Then you have the opportunity to collaborate with the international students about a project and benefit from their professional knowledge and competences. In a project collaboration the student will typically be working from their home and the cooperation with your company is based on meeting during the course. The collaboration result in a presentation and a written rapport.
Project oriented work experience
The international students enrolled at the International Brainstormers programme have a mandatory project oriented course enclosed in their study. They are expected to be situated 2 days a week in a partner company in a semester, and during this period be part of the staff of employees. The international students will typically be working with pre-determined development assignments, however, they can also be included in performance-assignments at the workplace. There lies no requirement for the student to be paid, nevertheless, the companies are encouraged to cover related costs, such as travel expenses ect. Work assignments and work hours will be determined by further agreement.
Master thesis cooperation
Do you have an issue that might benefit from being examined from several different academic viewpoint? Then, cooperation with the international students concerning a concrete problem statement, and profit from their knowledge and thesis. The company is expected to provide an counselor for competent feedback, and you can possibly offer a desk at your company for the international student.
Profession PHD
Could you propose research within a specific area that your company would profit from? This could for instance be research within product development, communication strategies, or logistics. In that case, your company should consider a profession PHD student. A profession PHD student is hired in a private company, while gaining the support from the Danish Business Authority.
