The National Institute of Public Health (NIPH) is Denmark's national public health institute. The NIPH is a research institute under the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southern Denmark. Before January 2007 the institute belonged under the Danish Ministry of the Interior and Health. The NIPH is based in Copenhagen.

To take part in the process towards better public health and a better health care system through research and reviews.

To be a trustworthy national public health institute with high standards for research and reviews. The work of the institute has to be relevant to the improvement of public health.
Staff
The institute has 100 employees. Among the researchers are doctors, midwives, nurses, psychologists, anthropologists, sociologists, statisticians and economists.
