The Lundbeck Foundation Center of Excellence NanoCAN (Nanomedicine Research Center for Cancer Stem Cell Targeting Therapeutics) is financed with 35 million kr. by the Lundbeck Foundation from 2010-2014.
MISSION
NanoCAN combines genomics, molecular biology, nanotechnology, cancer and stem cell research from the basic to the clinical level. Its main mission is to develop innovative approaches for improved cancer treatments.
VISION
NanoCAN`s vision is to construct nano-drugs that specifically address the so-called cancer stem cells. The nano-drugs are intended to have a modular design, so that the targeting and the killing specificity can rapidly be changed. The main focus of NanoCAN is breast cancer.
