Innovation is something that happens in companies’ R&D departments! Not quite – in fact, some of the most ground-breaking innovations such as the Internet are the result of a need, which a person could not find an immediate solution to. Other innovations happen because the users of a product find new ways of employing that product.
Marcel Bogers, who researches and teaches in company innovation at the Faculty of Engineering at the Mads Clausen Institute, University of Southern Denmark in Sønderborg, has appeared on the programme Academy of the Danes, which airs regularly on the national Danish channel DR2. Marcel talks about how companies can improve their innovative ability by opening the doors to inspiration and cooperation from the outside.
