Our vision is to contribute to improve the health of man.
The Institute of Clinical Research - is one of eight institutes at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark and comprises 38 Research Units based on departments at Odense University Hospital. The staffs count a total of approximately 60 professors, 110 associate professors and 200 clinical PhD students among the employees.
The institute staffs teach at all educations offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences, however, primarily Medicine.
The total research output comprises approximately 800 peer-reviewed publications per year.
The Institute is headed by professor, PhD, Kim Brixen.

- sustain and develop Institute of Clinical Research as a research institution with a visible and decisive impact on patient treatment.
We achieve this by
- educating and performing research at a high international level within areas relevant for prevention and treatment of diseases
- communicating research to the general public, professionals and decision makers.
Our strength is innovative clinical research on selected diseases that burden the patient, population or the society - with an aim to understand their
-pathophysiology, occurrence, treatment
combining advanced biomedical and epidemiological research with clinical trials.
