On Thursday February 7, the Danish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Higher Education awarded PhD student in Economics Martin Nielsen an EliteForsk research travel grant of 300,000 DKK. The travel grant is a prize awarded to very talented PhD students to support their research and in particular to strengthen the international dimension of their education.
Martin’s PhD project is in the area of Industrial Organization and he analyzes and interprets firms’ strategies and government actions from a strategic management perspective. Most importantly, his project highlights topics such as Regulation, Market conduct, Games and Strategy, Innovation, Market Structure, Collusion, and Merger policy.
The funding following the prestigious prize will support Martin’s plans of traveling to the Department of Economics at University of California, Berkeley. The department has a strong profile in Martin’s area of research and he looks forward to connect and discuss ideas with highly renowned faculty members as well as his peers.
