Institute of Sensors, Signals and Electrotechnics (SENSE)

Whether it concerns garden centres, power plants, hearing aids or loudspeakers, the Institute of Sensors, Signals and Electrotechnics, SENSE for short, can be an important contributor of knowledge and competences – both with regard to business and education and in relation to specific projects in cooperation with the business sector.

Department of  Sensors, Signals and Electrotechnics  merged with  Institute of Industrial and Civil Engineering  into Institute of Technology and Innovation on 1 January 2011. For more information please contact Head of Institute Peder Thusgaard Ruhoff.

SENSE contributes to the education of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Engineers at the Faculty of Engineering. The institute is also concerned with research in sensor technology, signal processing and electrotechnics – research which, to a large extent, is part of an interdisciplinary cooperation with the business sector and other research institutions.

More specifically, it concerns medical diagnostics, acoustic design of hearing aids and loudspeakers, projects in the nursery and garden industry and in the energy sector. The vision of SENSE is a continuous development of our core competences and thus a strengthening of our research and our cooperation with the business sector internationally, keeping a special focus on making a valuable difference for the business sector as well as for the engineer educations in the region of Southern Denmark.
