Everywhere in the Danish healthcare system there is a need for research and education.
Research and education improve the treatment of the patients and strengthen the competences of the healthcare personnel.
The Institute of Regional Health Research is the university frame of research and education at county hospitals in the Region of Southern Denmark and the Region of Zealand. This is important as the greater part of the patients suffering from the more common diseases is treated at the regional hospitals.
The research at the institute is broad and comprises clinical, organisational, and educational aspects.
The institute is also contributing to the clinical education of students from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark.
The Institute of Regional Health Research facilitates research in a complex organisation consisting of 5 hospitals and one university
- by giving competent feedback on
- research processes
- research politics
- specific projects
- SDU infrastructure and services for researchers
- by facilitating and formalising cooperation across the affiliated units
- by making the researchers, the institute and its special construction known to the public
The management and the employees of the institute are working together in an atmosphere of trust and common understanding of the challenges, and there is a strong interest in cooperating and sharing projects.
