The Research Education Program Network in Sport Sciences (REPS) is a formal collaboration between the sport departments at the universities of Copenhagen, Aarhus, Aalborg and Southern Denmark.
REPS was established in 2008 and funding has been granted for a three-year period from the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. From January 2011 to December 2013 REPS is located at the Institute of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense.
The overall aim of REPS is to support and improve the research studies of PhD students within the field of sport science. The aim is to strengthen the scientific standard at which these student work so that this complies with the highest international levels, and also to integrate cross-institutional collaboration and interdisciplinary cooperation.
REPS invites PhD students to become affiliated with the program.
The Research Education Program Network comprises three strategic areas:
1. Physical activity, public health and welfare
2. Optimizing sporting performance
3. Sport, socialization, identity and age
The activities conducted within the Research Education Program Network include:
•national and international PhD courses and seminars on special topics, featuring input from international experts
•training and ratifying PhD supervisors
•offering international network opportunities for PhD students and academic staff
