The unit for Maritime Research at IME is funded by the Danish Maritime Authority and works in close collaboration with the Centre for Maritime Health and Safety. The unit is headed by Associate Professor Jacob Kronbak and Research Assistant Liping Jiang. Since its establishment, the unit has attained encouraging results with wide recognition from the Danish government, as well as industries and professional bodies at home and abroad.
The unit has placed strong emphasis on innovative research and the main focuses covering shipping economics, ports and transport systems. In recent years, the unit often participates in externally funded projects and strives to provide research services for the maritime community. The unit has also set up various forms of collaboration with internationally renowned universities, institutions and professional organizations.
