The Marine Biological Research Centre in Kerteminde is part of the Institute of Biology, University of Southern Denmark. It is situated at the inlet to Kerteminde Fjord, opposite the fishing port of Kerteminde town and 100 m from the bus station.
The Marine Biological Research Centre, which is owned by the University of Southern Denmark, was built in 1997 next to the private foundation Fjord & Belt Centre and is used for research, education, field projects and summer courses.
The centre is equipped with modern laboratories, teaching rooms, aquaria rooms with running seawater etc. In addition, a couple of small boats belong to the centre.
The nearby Fjord Biological Laboratory acts as an annex for external co-operation projects and courses.
There is a possibility for free car transport with one of the cars from the Institute of Biology (car no. 12) from the university to Kerteminde. Employees and master student do not need a permission to drive, whereas bachelor students and students that are doing projects need a permission to drive from their supervisor and from Henning Jensen who is responsible for the cars.
In some periods car no. 12 leaves every day at 8 from the university and returns at 16 from Kerteminde. For further information please contact Ann-Mary Andersen.
