A boost to gerontology will be favorable at all levels, when it comes to the education of healthcare professionals.
We see it as an important task to ensure that young researchers also in future will be attracted to the gerontological research areas, and consequently we prioritize the Ph.D.-education (highly) at the Danish Aging Research Center. And we are convinced that boosting gerontology will be favorable to postgraduate health educations as well as adult and continuing educations for those with an undergraduate health education such as nurses, occupational therapists and physiotherapists.
The research group at the Danish Aging Research Center is part of the teacher and supervising team, in educations like Medical School and Public Health; as well as at Molecular Biology and Molecular Medicine at Aarhus University.
With the large grant from the Velux-Foundation, it has now also been possible to establish 6 Ph.D. fellowships.
