Centre for Energy and Environmentally Efficient Technologies specialises in a number of subjects across the research environments of the University of Southern Denmark.
System analysis, energy and environmental assessment/modelling: The area covers the most important competences in analysis, assessment, modelling and prioritising of aspects concerning resources and the environment. These include lifecycle assessments and lifecycle modelling of products and systems, area-based modelling, environmental assessment and modelling at the ecosystem level (soil, groundwater, streams, lakes and the sea), environmental assessment of chemicals (ecotoxicity, human toxicity, hormone effects, etc.).
Factsheets for selected realised or ongoing projects:
Analytical Review of Comparative Environmental Assessments of Incineration and Co-incineration of Waste
Modelling Renewable Energy Scenarios for Denmark
"Climate-check" for the southern Danish environmental networks
Innovation, product development and operation optimisation: The area covers the central competences in synthesis, i.e. solution making focussing on resource optimisation and environmental optimisation. These include operation optimisation in management and control as well as innovation and development of new systems, products and processes with a view to minimising resource input and environmental impact per functional output.
The competences of the University of Southern Denmark in sensors, actuators, software and IT for managing and process optimisation as well as product development and user driven innovation are central to the basic competences.
