The five new Niels Bohr Professorships are to be awarded at the EliteForsk-Conference 2013 on Thursday 7 February 2013, at the Ny Carlsberg Glyptoteks festsal Dantes Plads 7, 1556 København V.
As one of the awardees, David Needham has been invited to attend and receive the award from Hans Müller Pedersen and Director of the Danish National Research Foundation Thomas Sinkjær. As described at their web site, the EliteForsk has been launched as a framework for action that aims to strengthen and support some of the brightest and talented researchers in Denmark.
As described in their press release "A brain gain of 165 M DKK" the five professors are:
Professor Lars Hesselholt, University of Copenhagen, 30 M DKK
Professor Charles E. Lesher, Aarhus University, 28 M DKK
Professor David Needham, University of Southern Denmark, 29 M DKK
Professor Jaan Valsiner, Aalborg University, 20 M DKK
Professor Subir Sarkar, University of Copenhagen, 29 M DKK
Professor Anna Lowenhaupt Tsing, Aarhus University, 29 M DKK
