Two programs in American Studies The Center for American Studies offers two programs:
The "Tilvalg" or undergraduate minor field, 45 ECTS points taken in the third year of a BA. The curriculum consists primarily of set courses in American history, literature, and culture. There is no thesis requirement to complete this program.
The MA in American Studies, a two year (120 ECTS points) program. Course work for this program begins only in the autumn, when students taken three required courses. After this introduction, the majority of the remaining coursework consists of electives, which culminates in a master's thesis on a subject chosen by the student in consultation with an advisor.
