The laboratory includes a haematology and clinical chemistry laboratory, a cell laboratory, and a bio-image laboratory with micro-CT, fluorescence/luminescence and DEXA scanner for small mammals. A refrigerated room and storage at -20 and -80 degrees celcius is available, as well as facilities for liquid nitrogen storage.
Full haematology is performed on a Vet ABC with differential counts for selected animal species. Clinical chemistry applies a Cobas Mira spectrophotometer for analyses of enzymes (GGT, ASAT, ALAT, ALP. CK, LDH), metabolites (triglycerides, ureum, creatinine, cholesterol, bilirubine, glycose, LDL- og HDL-cholesterol, free fatty acids), trace elements (Ca, P, Fe) and proteines in serum, plasma and urine.
The bio-image laboratory includes micro-CT (Scanco), fluorescence/luminescence (IVIS) and DEXA (Piximus) scanner for small mammals. The equipment is partly investigator owned and part of a core bio-image facility. The instruments are available to all upon appointment.
