The focus of the Faculty of Engineering is holistic research, based on interdisciplinary and business-oriented co-operation – both regionally and internationally.
At the Faculty of Engineering at SDU all research has a pragmatic view: We do research to find new knowledge that can make a difference for the corporate world and the population on the whole – whether it concerns welfare, the environment, management, product design, buildings, food or other areas that rely on technology.

The Faculty of Engineering has defined six interdisciplinary research and focus areas that involve all of the faculty's departments:
