The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark is in the middle of a very exiting development of its research profile. As the University of Southern Denmark, the Faculty of Engineering prioritises having both a significant regional anchoring and an international quality. For example, the faculty cooperates with the business community and other research institutes at a regional level while, at the same time, it has a very well-functioning cooperation with industrial and research partners abroad. This systemic approach creates the best opportunities for a rewarding research at the faculty’s four institutes where they work across the faculty’s organisational boundaries and across the boundaries between the university, society and the business sector – this creates a strong profile not only within basic research but also within applied research.
