ERC
To increase the University of Southern Denmark’s chances of obtaining funds from the European Research Council (ERC), the Board has resolved to provide support for researchers applying to the ERC for funding.
Funding will take the form of financial support to resubmit an application that was accepted in the application process but was later rejected. In addition, a mentoring scheme is being set up for applicants who, when applying for starting grants and consolidator grants, wish to improve their chances of success in the interview that is part of the process of applying for these grants. The scheme takes effect in connection with the next round of applications in 2014.

Danish funding
As the next posting of ERC funds is not expected until early to mid-2014 under Horizon2020, for a limited period (autumn 2013) funds will also be offered in connection with applications for the Danish National Research Foundation (centres of excellence), the Danish Council for Strategic Research (strategic research centres) and the Danish National Advanced Technology Foundation (advanced technology platforms). Only major projects involving an application for a significant sum for research at SDU will be eligible for funding.
