According to the university regulation the requirements for and tasks of a Head of Department are many. In the list below you can find some of them:
- has the day-to-day management of the department
- must be a recognized researcher
- must have teaching experience
- cooperates with research managers on the research strategy of the department, the research school and evaluation of the research
- should stimulate a productive environment for researchers
- ensure the quality and coherence in research and teaching in cooperation with the academic boards and study directors
- responsible for academical, pedagogical and didactical teaching in cooperation with the academic boards and study directors
- responsible for personnel management
- economic planning
- supervision of externally financed projects
- assignment of associate Head of Department and reserach managers
