University of Southern Denmark is seeking a new Vice-Chancellor. Jens Oddershede resigns 1 February 2014
14 people have applied for the post of Vice-Chancellor of the University of Southern Denmark.
“I’m very pleased to see the interest shown in the post,” says chairman of the board Lars Nørby Johansen. “We have some very highly qualified applicants to choose from. Now we enter the phase of selecting candidates for interviews. I expect we will find a new Rector by the end of October. Until the new Rector’s name is published, the process will be kept completely confidential out of consideration for the candidates, who are still employed and are naturally entitled to confidentiality, and for the sake of SDU’s reputation.”
The board has appointed an advisory committee on new appointments, consisting of the board and a representative of each academic council. The committee will arrange conversations with the candidates and advise the board as to who is qualified and who is not qualified for the position. Thereafter the board will hold another round of talks.
The new Rector will take up office on 1 February 2014.
