The new Student House open in the former facilities of the Music Library, and invite all students to the opening on 2 September 2013.
The Student House is an initiative by UC Lillebælt, Academy of Professional Higher Education Lillebælt, the Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Southern Denmark, Municipality of Odense, the previous Student House Odense, and University of Southern Denmark.
The vision behind the Student House is to create a gathering point for all students at higher educations in Odense, and hereby mark Odense as an attractive city for studies. Thereby, the conditions for the students who have chosen Odense will be enhanced and possibly more students will be attracted to the city.
The new location vil be next to Kulturmaskinen in Brandts Passage in the inner city, and move into the facilities of the former Music Library.
There will be multiple functions in the Student House amongst others Studievalg Fyn (A student Counselling Office), the Library of University of Southern Denmark, and guidance and support in general.
Foreningen Studenterhus Odense will be located at the groud floor of the building, from where the Student House will run a café with an professional and social environment. Furthermore, Foreningen Studenterhus Odense will also conduct several student activities, including concerts, debates ect.
University of Southern Denmark is looking forward to opening the Student House, and hope for a vivid and attractive environment in the heart of Odense.
The Music Library will temporarily be moved into the Central Library of Odense.
