There will, of course, be a whole set of practical matters associated with completing your degree. Here you can read what you need to be especially aware of.
When is your degree concluded?
The conclusion of your degree course is defined as the date of your graduation. In relation to the date of your admission to an unemployment fund, the day of your graduation will vary according to when you have completed your degree course:
- If your course concludes with an oral examination, your graduation day is the date of this exam.
- If your course concludes with a written examination, your graduation day is the date on which grades for this exam are published.
- If your course concludes with a dissertation that does not need an oral defence (viva), your graduation day is typically the date on which your dissertation supervisor and the moderator signed and date their pre-approval (it is the last of these two dates that counts).
- You can also elect to designate your graduation day as the day on which you receive the grade for your dissertation.
- Finally your graduation day can be the date on which your examination certificate is signed.

Withdrawal
The University of Southern Denmark will automatically ensure that you are withdrawn from the roll on the date on which your last grade is registered and your examination diploma printed out.
