The choice of a course always indicates the onset of a career choice and when, as now, you are in full swing with a course, you have already made your first decisions regarding your future career. At an early stage of your course, therefore, you should consider your choice of specialisation, line, optional subject or graduate course.
Your choice is crucial
During your studies you will have to make decisions about the composition of your course. These decisions will determine what your final educational profile will be and thereby which skills you will acquire during your studies at the university. These are, therefore, decisions that will have important consequences for the future of your studies and for your life thereafter.
Choosing a course also means choosing a career
Many of the courses offered at the University of Southern Denmark provide you with a number of specific professional qualifications in various areas such as languages, mathematics, IT, economics and so on. But there are also many courses that do not lead to a given profession or function and therefore do not qualify you for a given profession or function.
However, the courses at the University of Southern Denmark have many common features that provide sound, general skills for a wide range of business and career paths. This means that, combined with the corresponding professional qualifications, you can take a bearing on potential careers at an early stage of your studies.
It’s your choice
You can read much more about the bachelor and graduate studies we offer at the University of Southern Denmark in the folder Din guide til Valg undervejs 2011 (in Danish only). You can collect the folder at the CareerCentre and at the Counselling Centre. You are naturally also welcome to contact the CareerCentre if you have any questions relating to your choice.
