Who can get a mentor?
If you are a master degree student or recently graduated, you can get a career-mentor, who can help visualize your job opportunities and kick start your career. The only requirements are that you are motivated and willing to put an active effort into the process. SDU Business helps with co-ordinating the first meeting, from which you are responsible to take initiative to organize the remaining meetings, prepare an agenda and get feedback. The mentors are all former students from University of Southern Denmark. They come from different industries and offer competent feedback and inspiration based on their experiences in job scouting and make a career as a candidate from University of Southern Denmark.
How does it function?
We organize the mentor program once a year. In 2013 we start in October. The program typically contains minimum 3 meetings between you (mentee) and your mentor from October 2013 until July 2014.
For instance a mentor can help you:
• Get insight into a specific industry, company or job function
• Specify your competencies and qualifications
• With feedback on applications and CV
• See new and different opportunities
• With feedback, advice and guidance with job- and career options
• Gain a large network
How can I get a mentor?
The Mentoring program initiates with a Kick-Off event in October 2013. At the event you will meet former students who previously have participated in the career mentor program, and get more information about the program. Sign up and learn more about the Kick-Off mentor event in our event calendar.
Fill out the profile form!
If you want a mentor you must fill out our online profile form. The profile form will be used to identify your needs and wishes which will be used in the matching process. All mentees will be awarded a mentor in the start of November.
It is important that the profile form is filled out as detailed as possible to create the best mentor / mentee match.
