Not only Hard Work
Study start is not all about books, accommodation and exams. The social life at and around the Faculty of Engineering, University of Southern Denmark is also a considerable part of starting a new life as a student.
The Society of Southern Danish Engineering Students (Danish abbreviation SIF) is an organisation of the students and for the students. SIF does not only influence the policies concerning the students but is also behind a range of other activities, such as parties, lectures, the fitness room, the bicycle repair shop, the Friday bar, and a lot of other things.
However, a new beginning is coupled with a lot of practical questions. If you cannot find the answers to your questions here, you are always welcome to contact
Student Service.
Odense... is inhabited by approx. 185,000 people of which close to 30,000 are students. Odense is the third largest city in Denmark. The students have their own house in the city with a cosy little café often presenting live music, entertainment and lectures. And in the internationally renowned "
Brandts Klædefabrik" you find a cinema, cafés, restaurants, an academy of fine arts, museums, shops and the music venue "Magasinet".
Sønderborg
... has also evolved into a real student friendly city. Besides bars, cafés and movie theatres, the Sønderborg region has some of the best sailing conditions. So if you are into windsurfing, water-skiing, rowing, angling or any other water sport, this is the place to go - when you have finished your homework of course...
