Danish Language Courses

The University of Southern Denmark does not offer Danish language courses to international students.We recommend, however, that you learn some Danish while you are in Denmark to enrich your experience. Here is a small beginner’s crash course

It is, however, possible to sign up for a Danish course through the municipality. The courses cost between DKK 500 and 1000 course per semester if you have a residence permit and a personal registration number (cpr.no.). In addition you pay for teaching materials. Students without a personal registration number are charged a higher tuition fee.

Odense:

In Odense you can contact Lærdansk in Odense to learn more about your possibility of learning Danish. The courses in Odense are free if you have a residence permit, an address in Odense and a personal registration number (cpr.no). You will have to pay for teaching materials. Students without a personal registration number will be charged a tuition fee.

Esbjerg:

At Campus Esbjerg foreign nationals can attend Danish courses at Sprogcenter Vest each semester. Courses start several times a year for both beginners and advanced students. Kolding:

Campus Kolding does not offer any Danish language courses to foreign nationals. However, it is possible to attend Danish language courses at the language centre in Kolding, called Lærdansk Kolding. Sønderborg:

In collaboration with Lærdansk Language Center, University of Southern Denmark, Sønderborg now offers Danish courses for all international students.

The courses start in October/February and exams are in December/January/May/June. The courses are between 4-5 hours a week and take place at Alsion or at the Lærdansk Language Center in Sønderborg.

The price is between 500 DKr/70 Euro’s (for EU citizens) and 1000 DKr/135 Euro’s (for non-EU citizens).

Invest in yourself and sign up in Student Services before 25 September/3 February

The Lærdansk Language Center and a caseworker will come to Student Services to speak with each student, who has signed up for the Danish Language Course. They will enroll you for the right level and inform you about the prices and payment. Information about the date and time will be posted on the notice board and sent to you by email.

You must have a residence permit and a personal registration number (cpr.nr.), to follow the courses.

Slagelse:
In Slagelse foreign nationals can attend Danish language courses at “Slagelse Sprogcenter”. Courses start several times a year for both beginners and advanced students. Lessons are given during daytime, in the evening and on Saturdays.
To sign up for the Danish course, contact the Town Hall, Rådhuspladsen, 4200 Slagelse. The lectures will take place in Slagelse Sprogcenter, Sct. Pedersgade 18, 4200 Slagelse, Tel: (+45)58 50 18 76.
