Extension of exchange stay
It is possible to be an exchange student up to two semesters.
To extend your exchange stay you have to hand in a nomination/mail from your coordinator at your home institution and a signed learning agreement by November 1st for the spring semester or May 1st for the autumn semester. Please note that if you wish to extend your exchange stay at the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Science in Odense, you must also contact the faculty and apply for the courses you wish to take.
If you extend your studies at SDU, note that you must apply for an extension of your residence permit. NOTE that you must apply for an extension of your residence as soon as possible.
Remember to inform your Accommodation Office if you extend your exchange stay. If you do not do so, you may not have a place to stay in the next semester.

Erasmus students
If you are an Erasmus student, be aware that you can only extend your exchange stay from autumn to spring. The Erasmus rules do not allow an exchange to cross the academic calendar year.
It is possible to apply to become a guest student if you wish to extend from spring to autumn. Note that guest students must pay tuition.
