As a degree student, you get your residence permit for the prescribed study time of your study programme. If you are a master degree student, your residence permit is granted for two years. If you are a bachelor student, it is three years.
The Danish rules regarding residence permit for non-EU/EEA citizens state that as a degree student you are at most allowed to be one year behind in your studies.
Since one year's workload equals 60 ECTS, you at the very most have three years to complete a two-year degree in.
Please be aware that you are not allowed to be more than a year behind in your studies.
