At the University of Southern Denmark we are very much aware that we are a dual language work-place where both English and Danish are used as the languages of work. For this reason we offer our international employees a wide range of specially planned courses in cooperation with the Lærdansk language school. These offers are currently based in Odense and Sønderborg. If the need should arise we can extend our programme to include other SDU campuses.
The purpose of teaching Danish is to give international employees a solid Danish-language basis, while at the same time enabling the employee to acquire Danish language competences which will make him/her able to handle most day to day work related tasks at the SDU. For this very reason, Danish language teaching takes its starting point in the day-to-day work at the SDU and this approach is supplemented with practical exercises and close cooperation with the learner’s Danish colleagues.
The Danish Language Training Program is free of charge for 3 years after arriving in Denmark. There are how ever possibilities of pausing your learning due to for instance a period of working abroad, maternity leave and such. You are obligated to inform your teacher if you wish to take a break.
