A general requirement of enrolment in a PhD programme is a Danish post-graduate university degree in the humanities (cand. phil., cand. mag., MA, cand. negot.)
Enrolment on the basis of other Danish or foreign degrees or other academic qualifications must be approved by the dean upon recommendation by the head of institute. Enrolment is subject to written application which must include an
application form. The application must be sent to the relevant institute and addressed to the Faculty Council. The application must contain a description of facilities and resources needed to carry out the project. Form of funding should also be stated. An assessment committee of 2 members is appointed. The members must be at least at the level of professor. The dean decides on enrolment upon recommendation from the committee.
