Master of Public Management has given me a good foundation to see the public sector in a more differentiated and complex perspective. The study programme provides an opportunity to gain insight into different management related and organizational challenges, since the participants' own experiences from "the real world" are related to a theoretical and academic high level. It has inspired me very much to be together with other leaders across the sector. Master of Public Management can support the you as a management professional, because the programme is ambitious and goal oriented. It is important that the programme is anchored at the university – close to the researchers – because it secures an academic high level.

The unique aspect in connection with the Master of Public Management programme is its high theoretical level and close links to the research and researchers. Master of Public Management encompasses all aspects of public management, since the political dimension is quite dominant, and hereby the programme differs from other Professional Master's degree programmes that target management in private companies. I have become considerably better at conceptualizing the often complex processes and issues that large organizations face, and this in itself is often half the solution. Management programmes are in the real world often a playground for smart ideas, fads and buzzes. You escape that, when you invest your strength within the university's walls; here, you find a high level and perspective, and the Master of Public Management programme attracts many exciting students.

To go through the educational journey, which the Master of Public Management programme has been, is both challenging, creative, and rewarding. The learning environment with professionally updated and active players in the public debate gives the contents a high pulse. The knowledge presentation of theory and inspiration for the practical use of theory in day-to-day management gives an added competence and will to analyse the situation from multiple and new angles with different theoretical backgrounds. You are definitively another person after having completed the Master of Public Management programme, and I would not want to be without it.

Within the teacher's college world there are changes in the study programmes' contents, the organizational structure with mergers, and rising expectations of the academic level. As in a lot of other sectors, management recruitment has been looking for highly qualified lecturers, who especially have functioned as administrative leaders. Today, expectations to management are considerably rising in connection with strategic, staff, developmental- and pedagogical management. Here, the Master of Public Management programme is a really good learning environment for each leader. One meets engaged, academically capable and highly communicative lecturers, who put management in a new perspective. A new reality opens. In the group of students, we have great unity with exciting exchanges of experience that also expand both the academic and personal network. The study programme gets in your blood and changes the way you think of management in a modern world.

"When I started the Master of Public Management programme I had many considerations about studying for a Professional Master's degree, and why it precisely had to be Master of Public Management. A deciding factor for me was that the programme is strongly focused on management and targeted to the public sector. As a leader in both the public sector and in NGO for more than 10 years, it was and still is my interest. Those expectations have been fulfilled. It has been a pleasure and often an eye opener to discuss management theories from many different perspectives. At the same time, it has been good to be together with other leaders from very different areas, yet with shared frames of reference. The programme has given me a better foundation as a leader and a wish to continuously follow the development in the area. As an alumni of Master of Public Management you find out that you never stop becoming wiser."
