Education in the middle of your career
Master of Public Management is a general management study programme at university level. The Professional Master's degree programme is a two-year part-time study programme that is directed at the public sector primarily. Master of Public Management qualifies the candidate to work in the area between public institutions, private companies, and voluntary, non-profit organizations.
The Master Public Management programme targets people, who already have or are on the way to a leading position. They typically hold a profession-specific degree, but will profit from better abilities especially within strategic management, organization and staff relations, political science and public administration, accounting, economics, market understanding and communication. In short, the education gives the one, who already has organizational experience and is in the middle of a career, an opportunity to develop leadership abilities and qualifications.
Experience combined with knowledge gives strength
The students, who are accepted into the master programme, all have organizational and management related experience. During the programme, personal experiences are confronted with the fellow students' knowledge, the textbooks' theories and models, as well as the most current research results.
Master of Public Management provides the framework for lifelong learning, and for the individual student it is a developmental forum. A special importance is attached to the collaboration between the students, and strong networks are being formed during the two years, which you will benefit from in the long term.
As a Master of Public Management alumni, you have the opportunity to continue at your own pace to take courses that are of interest, but which you did not have time for, during the programme. The programme is developed continuously, and thus you have access to interesting learning and development possibilities many years after the acquisition of the degree.
