Vision
The vision of the University of Southern Denmark is to ensure that researchers, teachers and students at SDU have access to relevant information by the means of user-friendly systems and high-quality guidance.
All aspects of the work researchers and students are engaged in with information resources must, therefore, be supported at the highest level.
Mission
- Supplying library services and guidance for research and teaching at SDU
- Supporting all the facets of the undertakings of SDU

Objectives
- The library exists for its users
- Materials must be easily accessible – in electronic form, from open shelves or via speedy delivery from all departments
- Electronic and printed media are made available to users via use-friendly and targeted user interfaces
- Supplying the best possible service for users
- Promoting knowledge and information literacy
- Being an advanced and user-oriented electronic research library
- Obtaining electronic publications instead of printed when deemed expedient and where it is possible
- Assigning high priority to personal service and professional guidance
- Participating in the development of SDU’s electronic learning environment
- Contributing to providing a good framework for study environment
