The library's material is spread around all of the university's campuses. You can see where individual items are shelved in the library's catalogue and also whether they are available for loan. All the material, wherever it is shelved, can be borrowed through your local library.
See a map of the library's departments here.
Books are shelved systematically according to subject. Printed journals are shelved in alphabetical order according to their title. Other types of material can be shelved separately
Material, shelved in "magasin", can be borrowed in the same way as all other books for loan. You just have to make a request via the library's catalogue. Material shelved in the reading room, the information room or on a semester loan shelf can only be borrowed as an overnight loan or you can make a photocopy of the material at the library. These items cannot be requested via the catalogue. Read more about overnight loans here.
If you make a request for books (which are not on loan) from other departments before 12.00 noon, then you can normally pick them up the following day after 12.00 noon. Read more about borrowing rules and supply.
