Periodicals, articles
The library has periodicals on all the disciplines of chemistry. The main part of the collection is wihtin the areas in which research is done at the University. Nowadays, almost all periodicals on these subjects are electronic, but for some titles the older volumes are found only in print. These are found either in the collection on the open shelves (in the southern end of the library) or in the closed stacks.
Titles can be found via search in the library catalogue or in MetaLib, under electronic periodicals. Remote access is available for employees and students of SDU.
Articles can be found by searching the relevant bibliographical databases, e.g. Scifinder (Chemical Abstract), Reaxy(Beilstein-Gmelin) or Web of Science. Many articles can be accessed directly, if the library subscribes to the periodical in electonic form. Older articles can be found in the printed volumes of the periodicals on the open shelves or in the stacks.
Articles in periodicals that are not subscribed to by the library can be ordered by using the electronic form. The library will try to get the material via inter-library loan.
