• Nordic Association for English Studies (NAES) 
  An association for English teachers at university level.
• Nordic Association for American Studies 
  Part of the European Association for American Studies. 
• International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Langauge (IATEFL) 
  An organisation of English teachers from more than 100 countries.
• Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) 
  International organisation of teachers of English as a foreign language. Their Mission Statement says, "TESOL’s mission is to develop and maintain professional experts in English language teaching and learning for speakers of other languages worldwide."
• The American Literature Association
  Homepage for ALA, which deals with all aspects of American literature. One of the subpages (Directory of Affiliated Societies) has links to research associations working on specialised ares of American literature and culture.
